2. Isle Of Man Aircraft Registration

Age restriction There is no specific age limit for registering aircraft in the Isle of Man, but if it is an older aircraft, it is advisable to check that it will be accepted. If an aircraft type is still supported by the Type Certificate Holder it is normally acceptable.

Certificated by EASA All aircraft for registration in the Isle of Man must have been type certificated by EASA.
Application

Form 1 - Application for out-of-sequence Aircraft Registration Mark (if required).
Form 2 - Application for Registration of Aircraft.
Form 3 - Application for a Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A).
Form 4 - Application for Airspace Approvals and declaration of capability (if Airspace Approvals are required).
Form 5 - Application for Aircraft Radio Licence, including the required remittance as indicated in part 7 of the form. Please send Form 5 to the Aircraft Registry for checking initially, it will then be sent to Ofcom by the Registry. Please note Ofcom’s declared service standard for the issue of an initial Aircraft Radio Licence is 5 working days from receipt of the correctly completed application.
Form 6 - Application for Flight Crew Licence Validation for each member of the flight crew.

Export C of A OR valid C of A and current ARC The aircraft owner should provide the IoMAR with an Export C of A or equivalent documents from its existing registry. The aircraft cannot be registered in the Isle of Man until an Export C of A or equivalent documents has been submitted.
Aircraft Insurance Before completion of the registration process we will require a copy of the Aircraft Insurance Certificate with the new registration marks and including a statement of compliance with EC Regulation 785/2004.
ISLE OF MAN AIRCRAFT REGISTRY Aircraft survey is conducted.
