Boeing 767-300ER

Sales of the Boeing 767 300 with increased range started the year before its first flight, so nowadays the earlier versions can be purchased on the secondary market only. Prices for the Boeing 767-300ER will depend on the year of production and flying time. Anyway, this B767 version will be quickly recuperated due to its perfect flight performance. In general, the Boeing’s 767-300ER popularity among all 300 series versions owes much to its high passenger capacity and   transit range.

The Boeing 767-300ER differs from and has an advantage over its passenger counterpart because of its increased passenger capacity and transit range up to 10 550 km. The cabin of hybrid configuration accommodates 216 passengers, with 18 thereof in the first class, and the rest in the tourist economy class. Passenger capacity of the Boeing 767-300ER can be increased by its reconfiguration in a more practical style. The B767 300ER lifting capacity advantage was achieved at the account of modified liner design and more powerful engines with extra fuel tanks in the center box. At first, the Boeing 767-300ER had General Electric CF6 engines, later replaced by the more cost effective Pratt & Whitney PW4060 with thrust of 27 215 kgf each. There are also TFE Rolls-Royce RB211 modifications. Technically, the B767 300ER may be equipped with pairs of General Electric CF6-80C2-84F engines with thrust of 26 260 kgf each, Pratt & Whitney PW4056 with thrust of 25 740 kgf or PW4060 –27 215 kgf each, Rolls-Royce RB211-524G –26 300 kgf each or RB211-525Н –27 490 kgf each. Increased fuel capacity allows pushing the max takeoff weight limit up to 185, and later up to 187 tonnes.

The Boeing’s767-300ER avionics is represented by the digital Rockwell Collins EFIS with six semi-functional displays. The same system was applied in the cockpit of 757 series. The Boeing’s 767-300ER wing span remained the same as in ordinary version– 47.57 m, with usable area of 283.30 sq m and jetliner length of 54.9 m. The Boeing’s 767 cabin is 4.72 m wide, which is 1.5 m wider than of previous designs. Consequently, this made it possible to install 7 seats in 2+3+2 pattern. Thus, almost every seat in the Boeing 767-300ER becomes advantageous in terms of comfort: the seat will be either near the aisle, or at the window. Only the passengers on second seats of the middle row will be bothering for their neighbours when leaving. According to public-opinion polls, the Boeing 767 is on the same level with wide-bodied Boeing 747 jetliners by comfort.

Popular routes of the Boeing 767 300ER are between pairs of cities London-Tokyo, Moscow-Peking, Frankfurt am Main – San-Francisco. The average flight time is more than 10 hours, but a comfy passenger cabin with branded Boeing interior and relaxing lighting give a chance to have rest even while flying. Low noise level, well-spaced comfortable seats, accessible carry-on space are the main factors making the flight by the Boeing 767-300ER comfortable for any class passengers. The Airbus 330-300 is deemed to be the nearest competitor in the class.
