Boeing 777-8X

The world aviation market of wide-bodied aircrafts is on the verge of sensation. Flight range has already reached its maximum. Anticipating the future customer needs, the big air companies tend to be the first and get their hands on extra-long-range models capable of accommodating more passengers and bringing more profit from each passenger-kilometer. The American Boeing 777 that captured a huge segment of this market here again turned out to be the first announcing a new model in the Boeing 777 line.

The announced model really staggers imagination. The upgraded Boeing 777-8X is designed to accommodate 350 passengers in the three-class cabin configuration at a range of more than 17 220 km. The cost-effective 777-300ER has become a baseline for this aircraft development. Hereby the passenger cabin will also be updated, once again persuading the customers in correctness of their choice. By capacity, the Boeing 777-8X will fill in a vacant niche in the B777 line and quickly master the segment between Airbus A350 and A380.

According to the project, the Boeing 777-8X will have a fuselage length of 69.5 m, with a wingspan of 71.3 m. The wing design is already improved to reduce load on its plane while manoeuvring, and is also equipped with vertical gust level control system. The new B777-8Х is provided with 3.3 m electric actuator for wingtips bending. The tail plane in the Boeing 777-8X was increased for enhancing the planning capability.

The new Boeing 777-8X will be a competitive successor of the 777-200LR. It will offer an excellent chance to perform long comfortable journeys from the Middle East to any South American airport. The long-haul liners are peculiar for necessity of maximum fuel combustion in the first several flight hours for lighting and covering the rest of flight in a more fuel-saving mode.

The Boeing’s 777-8X thrust is ensured by the two next generation turbojet engines – the  unrivaled General Electric worked out the all-powerful GE9X, each of them creating thrust of 44 868 kgf. The cockpit and on-board calculation equipment are taken from the successful Boeing 787 line. On the whole, the model will not depend on risks accompanying any design from scratch. The Boeing 777-8X is guided by successful experience in technology adoption in liners 787 and 777 series. Sales of aircrafts depend on progressive increase of production capacities of the air company: the orders already obtained from world leading air operators for the new Boeing 777-8X will load production of the twin-engined medium and long haul aircrafts for 5 years ahead. Supplies of the first new generation liners will begin already in 2020. Continuous growth of production of brand new air transport makes any air company to work at a frenetic pace and offer more and more new projects of perfect aviation.
