Boeing 777-9X

The Boeing 777, which is unequalled by its yield capacity in flight, passes on its best properties to each new version. Boeing has long become an undoubted leader on the elite aviation market, and the new Boeing 777-9X design will strengthen this position for at least next ten years.

The Boeing’s 777-9X presentation launched sales of aircrafts to the four biggest air companies looking for replacement of the outdated analogues well in advance.  On the day of exhibition the Boeing got the orders for production of 259 liners of this type, with total order price amounting almost to 100 billion dollars. Everything done within Boeing 777 series is perfect. The new B777-9X has been designed almost from scratch incorporating successful experience of previous versions. The results showed that the future intercontinental flagship exceeded all expectations in respect of maintenance and profit from flights. The Boeing 777-9X is mainly focused on ensuring the customers’ loyalty and capturing the new air line routes all around the globe.

The Boeing 777-9X will become the largest and, at the same time, the most efficient twin-engined liner in the world demonstrating at least 12% fuel saving and reducing the operating costs by 10% as compared to its nearest competitors. The B777-9X has the lowest operating cost index per each passenger in civil aviation as a whole. Hereby the liner will be capable to accommodate more than 400 passengers at a range of up to 15 185 km. The Boeing’s 777-9X length will be extended up to 76.5 m, with its wingspan and sweep being identical to the Boeing 777-8Х. With fuselage diameter of 6.19 m, the cabin interior retains a space of 5.86 m wide, typically for the 777 series. The shortened 777-8Х version, though being less capable, will be still 4.26 m longer than the В777-200LR Worldliner.

One more remarkable peculiarity of the Boeing 777-9X is the bending back wingtips of 3.3 m long driven by electric actuator. Large dimensions have their special features. ICAO classified the B777-9X by F Code that requires a flight strip of at least 18.30 m wide, as opposed to Е code, which may use a strip of 13.70 m. Should it be landed at the E Code airport, this aircraft will need extra space.

General Electric will be the only engine supplier for the B777 Х. Owing to GE9X engines made by this company the fuel consumption reduced by 10% as compared to the 300ER (2хTFE GE90-115B). The state-of-the-art aircraft engine GE9X has been under development since 2010, and will be finally approved only in 2016. It is planned to carry our certification of the eco-friendly engine for the Boeing 777-9X in 2018. It is worth mentioning that GE90-115B turbine diameter is just 0.3 m smaller than the passenger cabin width of the Boeing 737. Similar to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner developed under the codename 7Е7, as likely as not, the B777 9X will also be given a new excellent name.
